Gaynor Alder

Never one to be put in a box, Gaynor does what she does because she loves the freedom the online word has given her to live a creative life. Equally, she loves giving other businesses this same liberty to soar to new heights.

In addition to being the director of AIR CREATIVE, she also delivers the nation-wide Advanced Facebook Marketing course for NET:101, Australia’s largest provider of social media education.

She has been interviewed on Channel 7 and the ABC radio; published in B&T, Problogger and on the Public Relations Institute of Australia blog; and was a speaker at the Mumbrella360 marketing industry conference.

Her background includes freelancing in PR and copywriting, and being a beauty editor and later travel editor for an online magazine. She also blogged for 5 years and grew her online publication to include 15 contributors, until closing the publication to focus on her social media career. Her beauty features saw her become a finalist at the Beauty Directory Star Awards alongside Madison Magazine.

Whilst blogging she worked extensively with brands on campaigns including AAMI’s Rhonda & Ketut, Ecco shoes’ world record breaking catwalk, Tourism Queensland’s Airlie Beach regeneration, The Line campaign with the Australian Government, filmed a promotional Pantene commercial with Zoe Foster, and was chosen as as Cointreau’s style expert for their ‘Art of the Cocktail Hour’ website which included writing articles and reporting as their brand ambassador from Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.

In a past life Gaynor was a recruitment consultant managing a busy desk for clients such as Coca Cola; and was also the Quality Assurance Manager for Impact Digital, where she successfully secured ISO quality assurance, OHS, environmental and FSC certifications over four consecutive years, was awarded FSC supplier of the year, and wrote the submission that won the business an “Enterprise and Innovation” award from the Moreland City council.

She spends more time at Tullamarine airport than Flinders Street station- but will never tire of the exhilaration that is the power and precision of a plane taking off and landing on the runway. She loves a good thread count and fluffy hotel pillows, can be found mid-flight engrossed in marketing magazines, is always puzzled when people start queuing way before the boarding call, and is happiest when embarking on a new adventure wondering what she will discover at her destination.
